Library Cards
Students must be currently enrolled in Rend Lake College to obtain a library card. There is no cost except for replacement cards, which are $5.00. Community Borrowers non-students that live within the community college district are eligible to receive a community borrower card if they are at least 18 years old or a high school senior. Proof of in-district residency is needed.

Copy Machines
Two copy machines are available for use in the library. One is downstairs by the circulation desk and another is upstairs in Reference Department by the research computers. To use the copy machines you must use coins. Cost for copying is $.10/page.

Printers
Two printers (black & white & color) are located behind the circulation desk. Fees of $.05 (b&w) and $.50 (color) are paid at the circulation desk.
A printer is available at the PAC terminals on first floor.
A printer is available in the research computer area in Reference.

Word Processing
All computers in the open lab (downstairs) can be used for word processing. Printing must be paid for at the circulation desk.

Internet Access
Computers in the open lab (downstairs) can be used to access the Internet or personal email. Printing must be paid for at the circulation desk. Computers in the Reference area are to be used for research.

Circulation

  • Allied Health Collection: All circulate but the Reference books.
    Periodicals: Periodicals are located in the Reference department and do not circulate.
  • General Collection: The general library collections circulate for two weeks for students and community borrowers and four weeks for faculty and staff. Fiction and non-fiction books are located on the first floor.
  • Reference Collection: Reference books do not circulate. Patrons can make copies of pages.
  • Reserve: Instructors put some items on reserve for their classes. Circulation of reserve material is determined by the instructor.
