AMNH scientific series
The American Museum of Natural History Library's scientific series provides access to the museum’s scientific publications covering such areas such as zoological systematics, paleontology, geology, evolution, and anthropology.

This site provides access to the Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health Literature and full text nursing journals.

EBSCOhost
This site consists of 17 databases covering a wide variety of topics and provides access to a core collection of journals with full-text and images.

DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals)
This link provides access to the directory of 1683 Open Access Scientific and Scholarly Journals created by Lund University Libraries.

Harp Week
This link provides access to Harper's Weekly from 1857 – 1877.

High Wire
This link provides access to the largest archive of free, full-text science information on earth. It includes 839,955 free full-text articles.

OCLC FirstSearch
FirstSearch is a combination of 12 different databases that provide abstracts and full-text articles covering a wide variety of topics.

SIRs Knowledge Source
This link provides integrated access to thousands of full-text articles, documents, and graphics. This is an excellent resource for social issues.

ScienceDirect College Edition
This link offers access to over 900 high-quality, peer-reviewed Health and Life Science journals.

Print Sources:

Over 120 periodical titles are available in the Reference Department. A printed list of the magazines that Rend Lake College owns, A Guide to Magazines, Newspapers, and Indexes, is available in the Learning Resource Center. Back issues of periodicals may be available in paper copy or on microform in the Reference Department. A display of the newest issues can be found in the displays at the east entrance of the Learning Resource Center.

Some magazines available in print are also available electronically and can be accessed from the Online Subscriptions/Services page.
