Rend Lake College seeks a full-time DEAN OF STUDENT AFFAIRS participate in the college's retention and completion agenda by providing leadership to all aspects of student affairs; coordinate various recruitment and transition events for prospective and current students related to admissions, orientation, and commencement; oversee the First Year Experience (FYE) program; assist the FYE Coordinator with special projects and instructing orientation courses; address barriers to college completion in support of closing equity gaps; work in a highly visible leadership capacity to create and/or maintain a supportive, productive, and enriching campus-wide multicultural environment; ensure College programs and services are accessible to specific populations, complying with College policies, relevant regulations and State and Federal legislation; serve as campus diversity officer; serve as a deputy investigator for purposes of Title IX college compliance under guidance of the Title IX Coordinator; educate the student population regarding appropriate behavioral expectations and diversity in compliance with the student conduct code and College policy through training opportunities; foster a climate of equity and inclusion by maintaining an environment that honors and respects diverse perspectives; support faculty to create and sustain classroom management systems that ensure a focus on learning and student success; facilitate student discipline and grievance procedures; identify and monitor at-risk students and provide proactive support; lead initiatives related to the prevention of campus violence and threat assessments, including intervention and response to students of concern; utilize institutional data to inform program development and goal setting; lead the process and analysis of co-curricular assessment; identify training and development needs of faculty, staff and students; serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet; attend all Board of Trustee meetings; support college functions across campus; serve on committees as assigned; and other duties as assigned. // Full-time (50-week) nontenure-track position.

  • Working knowledge of projectors and screens, sound systems, wifi connectivity, laptop computers, soundboards, and related equipment required. Experience with smartboards a plus.
  • Good computer skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining distance learning systems, such as Polycom and Zoom, strongly preferred.
  • All candidates will be required to successfully pass abackground screening process.
