Rend Lake College seeks a part-time AUDIOVISUAL & DISTANCE LEARNING TECHNICIAN for the Information Technology Department. This individual will set up audiovisual services for all RLC-sponsored events, including audiovisual equipment setup and provision of technical assistance; provide training to college personnel on the use of this equipment as needed; maintain, ensure the operation of, and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment at on- and off-campus locations, including but not limited to projectors, laptop computers, speakers, microphones, screens, and other equipment; recommend equipment purchase, repair, and maintenance for audiovisual and distance learning program needs; assist the supervisor in maintaining a complete and accurate inventory of all audiovisual and distance learning equipment on and off campus, and recommend purchases of new or replacement equipment; assist with the maintenance, operation of, and troubleshooting of Distance Learning technology at on- and off-campus locations, including but not limited to codecs, computers, cameras, projectors, monitors, sound systems, cabling, accessories and any other equipment; keep up to date on equipment and software related to audiovisual technology and distance learning;  train college personnel in the use of distance learning equipment and provide technical support for all rooms using DL / interactive video equipment; create and maintain necessary documentation, guidelines, training materials, and promotional materials for use of audiovisual and distance learning equipment; assist with satellite conferences and interactive video programs as needed; assist the supervisor with equipment purchase, repair, and maintenance for Smart classrooms, presentation rooms, and whiteboard rooms for Rend Lake College; and other duties as assigned. Limited night and weekend work is required. // Part-time nontenure-track position.for the Information Technology Department. QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate Degree in related field from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Working knowledge of projectors and screens, sound systems, wifi connectivity, laptop computers, soundboards, and related equipment required. Experience with smartboards a plus.
  • Good computer skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining distance learning systems, such as Polycom and Zoom, strongly preferred.
  • All candidates will be required to successfully pass abackground screening process.
SALARY & BENEFITS
  • $15 per hour

Rend Lake College seeks a full-time GRAPHIC DESIGNER for the Marketing & Public Information Department. This individual will create graphics for print projects such as flyers, posters, postcards and various other materials for marketing, public relations and related projects; produce videos for the college website, social media and for marketing and other purposes, from videography through production; create content for the college’s social media platforms, website, digital display boards and other avenues; take photos at college events and of daily life and activities at the college for use in digital and print platforms; assist with content generation and maintenance on the college website; produce college publications such as the annual college catalog, class schedules, annual report, recruitment publications and others; generate designs for other items such as T-shirts, banners, wall graphics, and more as directed; follow, maintain and make recommendations regarding the college’s branding guidelines; provide creative and technical direction to other members of the Marketing & Public Information Department, and others as directed, regarding use of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, design techniques, and other information; come up with ideas for new initiatives for the Marketing & Public Information Department; recommend new avenues for reaching students, particularly via digital platforms and mobile devices; work with the Director of Marketing & Public Information in developing recommendations for the annual budget process; and other duties as assigned. // Full-time nontenure-track position.
