HR Specialist


Job Description

The HR Specialist supports the HR Manager and HR Generalists within a Distribution Center (DC). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing customer service to DC Team Members in areas of payroll, time and attendance, benefits, safety, worker’s compensation, leaves, company policies, local DC policies, and training. Responsible for HR coordination and administration activities including data entry, maintenance of personnel/medical files, and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) log.

 
Job Responsibilities

  •  Delivers high level of customer-facing service to Team Members and leaders.  Handles difficult conversations and communicates information to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensures all Team Members are entered and processed correctly in the Kronos time-keeping system.  Responsible for payroll duties.  Ensures increases are processed on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Maintains Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) with all Team Member personnel transactions. Applies attendance policy by entering data and communicating as needed.
  • Assists the HR Generalist with various events, such as new Team Member orientation, benefits reviews, and Open Enrollment. Interacts with vendors and suppliers to meet internal customer needs.
  • Supports communication by updating bulletin boards and posting information for Team Members in the DC. Serves as liaison to Headquarters on HR-related matters, and collaborate with Centers of Expertise as needed.
  • Assists the HR Generalist by coordinating outreach efforts, scheduling interviews, checking references, and other Talent Acquisition support functions.
  • Responsible for worker’s compensation processing for DC employees; including submission of initial claim, data entry into the worker’s compensation system and notification to the carrier of the Team Member’s medical status and/or return to work.
  • Processes all Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Leave of Absence documents for approval process. Tracks FMLA time taken. Communicates information and updates to Team Members.

Qualifications

External Basic Qualifications

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field OR High School Diploma/GED and at least 3 years of human resources experience in employee relations, staffing & selection, compensation & benefits and/or training
  • Knowledge of payroll systems and payroll processes
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, Labor and Employment laws, Workers’ compensation, FMLA, ADA and OSHA laws

Job Description

Create and edit design files, for use in manufacturing and sales, for the POP industry. Create and edit CNC files for production using computerized engineering design software. Perform all supportive duties assigned by the Associate Engineer Team Leader.

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and edit files using design and engineering related software programs.
  • Perform Customer Design research.
  • Maintain, support and operate plotter and blueprint machines as required.
  • Create and edit files using reverse engineering software.
  • Scan and manipulate customer provided material, for production purposes, in accordance with customer specific needs and guidelines.
  • Provide files for production departments as needed.
  • Inspect in-process parts using a variety of measuring instruments, for quality, as required throughout production.
  • Create and edit CNC Routing files using related software.
  • Build and set up CNC holding fixtures.
  • Program CNC router to perform complex series of progressive router operations to meet precise tolerance and finish requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION             

Associate Degree in Design field preferred. Specialized courses in design/engineering software, equivalent to two or three years of college or equivalent years of specific work experience.

EXPERIENCE            

A minimum 2 years related experience with required education or a minimum of 4 years related experience without required education.

Job Responsibilities

  • Runs and monitors batch jobs such as integrated store order processing and prints picking documentation (labels).
  • Troubleshoots as first level support any problems experienced by production equipment.
  • Provides technical support for standard and proprietary desktop software. Relate to a diverse group of people, including team members, senior management, business customers, and vendors with courtesy and in a constructive, professional manner.
  • Provides information for standard desktop relocations and set up, by investigating and asking appropriate questions to support end-user needs.
  • Lifts and transports PC’s, monitors, terminals and printers for deployment.  Performs repairs or coordinates with vendors on more complex repairs.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots networking problems and systems (PC networking including switches and cabling, RF wireless systems, etc)
  • Maintains and troubleshoots proprietary material handling software and systems from vendors such as Dematic and Schaefer.
  • Answers questions regarding PC/printer software/hardware issues, and makes IT recommendations.

Qualifications

Internal Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED and previous experience in a technical support function.

  • Provide coaching and training to seasonal workforce, area trainees and peers supporting achievement and personal development.
  • Ensure upstream activities (e.g., field inspection, grower contract) are handled within company standards and business requirements.
  • Cultivate partnership with key business partners to plant / field operations (e.g., grower network).
  • Use SAP to support administrative procedures, documenting key readings, maintenance orders and production information. Maintain key process documentation (operating, start-up and shut-down procedures; standard work; process flow and instrumentation diagrams; etc.).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to Bayer’s Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards (e.g. general shop floor/machine safety and operating procedures).
  • Comply with internal procedures and support compliance with legal requirements applicable to area activities.
  • Participate and prepare to lead Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meetings as needed; articulating shift objectives and allocating resources accordingly across all active production areas.
  • Support and maintain metrics and relevant information on current Visual Management boards to drive teamwork and facilitate shift change over.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. (a bag of seed) and have a valid driver's license.
