 INA, Ill. (April 30, 2018) - The Rend Lake College Men’s Golf punched their ticket to the national tournament on Monday, taking second place in the NJCAA Region XXIV/District 1 tournament in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Parkland College took home the top spot with a three-round 897. But, luckily for the Warriors, the top two teams earned a spot at nationals at Glen Lakes Golf Club in Foley, Ala.

For their part, RLC’s golfers shot a 915 on the tournament (295, 312, and 308) to finish in second.

On individual scoring, Tyler Wall (Nashville, Ill.) (71, 77, 78) and Jack Pring (England, Backwell Secondary) (74, 78, 74) finished in a three-way tie for second with a tournament total of 226. Jace Swartzlander (Centralia) ended play tied for ninth with a 223 (74, 80, 79). Nate Neal (McLeansboro) was a few strokes behind with an 11th place 238 (84, 77, 77). T.J. Broy (West Frankfort) rounded out RLC scoring with a 17th place 243 (76, 83, 84).

Wall, Pring and Swartzlander were all named to the All-Region team.

National tournament play begins on May 21 and continues until the 24th.
