2016 Warrior Fest Car Show gearing up

INA, Ill. (Sept. 26, 2016) - With the Fourth Annual Warrior Fest quickly approaching, it’s not difficult to think of one of the event’s driving forces, the annual Car Show.

Rubber meets the road as participants can register from 9 a.m. until noon on Oct. 8, with judging beginning at 11:30 a.m. A trophy presentation at 2 p.m. will be the event’s finish line.

Competition will be fast and furious as vehicle entrants compete for: Best of Show, Best Ford, Best GM, Best Mopar, Best Street Rod, Best Paint, Best Motor, Best Rat Rod, Best Orphan, Best Truck, Best Sports Car, Top Five from 1995 and newer, Top 15 from 1975 to 1994, and Top 25 from 1974 and older.

If two-wheeled action is preferred, the show will also host motorcycles who will be competing for five awards: Top 10 Motorcycles, Best American Motorcycle, Best Asian Motorcycle, Best European Motorcycle, and Best Custom Motorcycle. There will also be a Club Participation Award.

Participants will also be entered to win door prizes and a 50/50 drawing. Hot Rod Nights will emcee the event and assist with the drawings. Photos of each entry and owner will be taken by RLC between 10 a.m. and noon. All photos will be posted online for free viewing, downloading, and sharing at RLC’s Flickr site: www.flickr.com/rendlakecollege.

The $10 registration fee to enter the Car Show will go toward student scholarships in the Automotive Technology program. Dash plaques will be given to the first 100 entrants. For more information about the car show, contact Nigel Thompson at 618-437-5321, Ext. 1806 or thompson@rlc.edu.

Visitors to the show are encouraged to make pit stops at other Warrior Fest attractions which will include children’s activities at the RLC Foundation Children’s Center, a vendor and craft fair, a scholarship giveaway and various events hosted by RLC clubs and organizations.
