Andrea Snow, an artist and illustrator who graduated from Rend Lake College, is the featured subject for the first Cultural Arts Calendar of Events for the Spring 2021 semester.

Snow will be leading a meet-and-greet discussion about art and other topics at noon on Friday, Jan. 29, with a virtual event. This semester, the Cultural Arts Calendar of Events will celebrate several former RLC graduates and other regional artists with a variety of diverse perspectives. There will also be several demonstrations with interactive engagement.

Snow is a former Benton native. She is a PhD candidate, Dixon Fellow, and Huntley Scholar in the Department of Art History at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. She was born in Southern Illinois and is an alumna of Rend Lake College. While an RLC student, she was encouraged to pursue a career in the arts and humanities, and she has since worked as an illustrator, prop maker, and professor of art history. Presently, she is a medieval art historian and PhD candidate. When she is not researching objects crafted in a distant past, she makes
and interrogates
art in the present.

Those interested in attending the event can watch via Zoom.
