Architecture students create furniture for Fun Fest (standalone photos)

STARTING FROM SCRATCH
INA, Ill. (Sept. 24, 2013) - Rend Lake College student Dakota Cross (Mt. Vernon) and her architecture class used a new CNC (computer numerical control) Router Monday afternoon to create the forms for a bench for Fun Fest 2013. The benches at Fun Fest will be raffled off to raise money for the program. Fun Fest lasts from noon - 3 p.m. tomorrow. Click on the image for a larger view.

STUDENTS GET CREATIVE
INA, Ill. (Sept. 24, 2013) - About a dozen students in Rend Lake College's architecture program have worked countless hours putting together unique furniture to be used during Fun Fest 2013 tomorrow. Benches, chairs and several bean bag toss games will be spread out across campus for the festivities. The pieces were all created with new machines in the Machine Technology lab that opened this fall. Click on the image for a larger view.

Fun Fest 2013 is scheduled for noon - 3 p.m. tomorrow (Sept. 25). Classes on campus, at the Murphy-Wall Pinckneyville Campus and at the RLC MarketPlace in Mt. Vernon will be cancelled between noon and 3 p.m., and will resume afterward.
