INA, Ill. (April 25, 2025) — Rend Lake College's Bree Vollman (Norris City), a sophomore pursuing a career in physical therapy, was recently named a Bronze Scholar on Coca-Cola’s 2025 Academic Team. The prestigious award is sponsored by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation and administered by the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society.

This year, nearly 2,100 students applied for the All-USA Academic Team competition, but Vollman's outstanding academic achievements and service set her apart.

"One of my biggest concerns about attending a junior college was finding transfer scholarships for a four-year university," said Vollman. "Becoming a member of Phi Theta Kappa has been such a huge help. The opportunities PTK provides are worth so much. They offer access to multiple scholarships, adding up to thousands of dollars. That’s been a game-changer for me!"

The Bronze Scholar award comes with a $1,000 scholarship that renews each semester, enhancing Bree’s ability to pursue her academic goals.

With her academic sights set on a doctorate degree in physical therapy, Vollman is on track to graduate from RLC in May 2025 and transfer to the University of Evansville.

When Vollman isn’t excelling in the classroom or as a PTK member, she is a setter on the court for the Lady Warriors volleyball team.

  • Service Aces: 53 (0.49 per set)
  • Digs: 271 (2.49 per set)
  • Points Scored: 92.0

"Phi Theta Kappa has really helped me feel more confident about my future. From scholarships to recognition, it’s opened doors I didn’t think were possible," said Vollman. "It’s not just about the financial support; it’s about the opportunities and community that come with being a member."

Vollman is an example of what it means to thrive at RLC. Whether hitting the books or setting the ball, she’s forging a path that inspires those around her. As she prepares for the next stage of her academic and athletic career, there’s no doubt that Vollman will continue to make waves.
