INA, Ill. (June 6, 2016) - Rend Lake College’s own Chef Robert Wilson will make a guest appearance on WSIL-TV3 this weekend during a new cooking show. The segment will feature local individuals creating a recipe for viewers at home.

Wilson, RLC Culinary Arts Lead Associate Professor, volunteered to be the first guest on the show, and with only two to three minutes live on the air, he said he had to think long and hard about what to prepare.

“This is something I racked my brain for - what can I do in three minutes that people in Southern Illinois would be interested in watching?” said Wilson. “I decided to do something from the garden. I have a fairly extensive garden at home, and I know others do too. I thought it might be interesting to others this way.”

In the end, Wilson said he’s planning to make Chipotle Pepper Bourbon Bread and Butter Pickles - an invention from a student last semester that was featured in the RLC Culinary Arts Showcase.

According to WSIL, the segment will air through the summer months. They will air live but will also be available to view online at www.wsiltv.com or on WSIL’s Facebook page. Catch Chef Wilson and learn to make some delicious pickles at 6:45 a.m. Saturday, June 11.
