INA, Ill. (March 3, 2016) - Deborah Loucks of Sesser was named the Rend Lake College Foundation Outstanding Student for the month of February.

She is currently seeking her Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees in Music and Theatre from RLC. Since the start of her RLC journey, Loucks has been actively involved in the Thespians Comedy Improv Troupe and has been cast in numerous RLC plays and musicals, including the 2015 Fall Play, “The Life and Adventures of Santa Clause.” Theater Professor Tracey Webb nominated Loucks as February’s Warrior.

“She is always cheerful, always turns her work in on time, never skips class or rehearsals, and is polite and gracious to everyone. She is a natural leader and I trust her as an assistant during rehearsals,” said Webb.

Loucks said she plans to continue her education at SIU Carbondale after graduating from RLC.

“I always knew I needed to at least get my associate degree. After the birth of my daughter, I had to get a second job. Once my home life was stable, that’s when I was able to come back. It’s my goal and my dream to become a theater teacher,” said Loucks.
