Dual enrollment helps high school students work toward their future at RLC

Interested in getting a head start on your future? Dual enrollment opportunities at Rend Lake College could help put you on a path toward a new career.

Enrollment is ongoing this for local high school students and other members of the community who like to work ahead. The evening and online classes are a great fit for anyone who wants to work on a variety of degrees or certificate programs at RLC.

Do you like to be on the ground level of project development? A CAD certificate could be completed in eight weeks by attending Monday and Wednesday evening class from 6 to 7:50 p.m.

Several career paths start first with a Business AA or AAS degree. Online courses are available to begin working on this versatile degree as well as multiple certificates, including Business Management, Financial Associate, and Human Resource Associate.

Those considering a career in law enforcement can begin taking online courses for an AAS degree in criminal justice. You could also use these same courses for a Police & Corrections certificate.

IT and Programming demand increased with the pandemic. Did it peak your interest? Take an online course and start working towards multiple certificates; Programming with .NET Platform, Computer Networking, Linux Networking, PC Maintenance, and Cyber Security Specialist.

Curious about how things work and product manufacturing? How about working to become a Certified Production Tech (Industry Recognized Credential). Enroll in online Manufacturing courses offered in 8-week format.

Is precision, detail, and fabrication more of your skill set? Attend two or four nights a week to start earning your Welding Fundamentals certificate. Courses also work towards completion of Weld Tech Certificate and degree, offered in a daily face-to-face format.
