INA, Ill. (February 27, 2023) — Dr. Brian Durham, the Executive Director of the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB), toured Rend Lake College on February 16 to mark the occasion of Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month. He was accompanied by a group of distinguished guests, including ICCB Chief of Staff Matt Berry, ICCB Board Members Larry Peterson and Craig Bradley, and representatives from Sydenstricker Nobbe Partners, Addison Page, and Mike Crisel.
The group visited several key areas of the college campus, including the Learning Resource Center, Nursing Simulation Labs, the First Year Experience Room, the Hybrid Vehicle Classroom, and the Agronomy Innovation Center. At each stop, Dr. Durham and his colleagues were able to witness firsthand the cutting-edge facilities and technologies that Rend Lake College is using to prepare its students for successful careers in a variety of fields.
Also present during the tour were Rend Lake College President Terry Wilkerson and Vice President of Instruction and Student Affairs, Lori Ragland. Both played an instrumental role in showcasing the college's facilities and discussing the various programs available to students.
As CTE Month celebrates the importance of technical education and vocational training, the visit to LC provided a unique opportunity for Dr. Durham and his guests to witness the impact of these programs and to understand the ways in which community colleges are playing an essential role in preparing the workforce of the future.
