INA, Ill. (Feb. 19, 2020)
Rend Lake College and the Illinois Rural Health Association will host a Student Rural Health Careers Forum from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26 at the Rend Lake College Learning Resource Center on the Ina Campus.
At this free event, students interested in a career in health care can gain insight into the variety of occupations available in the field. There will also be a panel discussion and free pizza and soda for those in attendance.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 14% increase in health care occupations between 2018 and 2028, adding about 1.9 million new jobs nationwide during that time frame. BLS also reports the median annual wage for health care practitioners and technical occupations (nurses, physicians, dental hygienists, etc.) is higher than the median annual wage for all occupations.
Want to take advantage of an in-demand, high-paying career field? Sign up for the forum today to learn how you can get started. The event is free but registration is required. To register, visit http://www.ilruralhealth.org. For more information on the event, contact Kim Wilkerson at Rend Lake College at 618-437-5321, Ext. 1775 or the Illinois Rural Health Association at 217-280-0206.
