INA, Ill. (Oct. 30, 2019) - Rend Lake College hosted the annual Career and Technical Education Days (CTE) Tuesday and Wednesday on the Ina campus for local high school students. During these days, an estimated 630 students meet with faculty and staff, tour campus, and learn about the various programs RLC has to offer.
The students gathered in the RLC Theatre in the morning for an introductory session. The students then broke into sessions to tour campus and check out programs they identified as their interests. Participants were able to ask questions about the classes, instructor expectations and what they can do as high school students to prepare for college-level classes.
They were also able to get behind-the-scenes tours of some of RLC's most hands-on departments. Welding, culinary, information technology, allied health and a plethora of other programs opened their doors to allow local students a candid look of how a CTE class operate.
