INA, Ill. (March 30, 2017) - Local high school students visited Rend Lake College today to take part in Transition Summit, an event designed to help students plan for their future education and career. Throughout the day, the students took tours, listened to speakers, and learned about college resources, employment, dressing for success, degree and certificate programs at RLC, and 4-year transfer programs. Students from Mt. Vernon Township and Woodlawn high schools took a tour Thursday afternoon with Kaylee Smith, RIGHT, Career Services Specialist. The tour included many different stops - the Academic Building and Bookstore, Learning Resource Center, tutoring centers, and the Gymnasium and Aquatics Center - to show students all aspects of college life.

Motivational speaker Jeff McGoy, LEFT, spoke to the students Thursday morning in the RLC Theatre, hitting on a number of important life lessons, many of which centered around success in college and life afterward. McGoy has spoken at past Transition Summits and encourages the students to ask questions at the end of his presentation.
