Local students win top prizes at RLC's Future Business Warrior competition

INA, IL (April 8, 2022) - A pair of seniors from Zeigler-Royalton High School were recently awarded the top prizes at Rend Lake College’s Future Business Warriors competition.

Cera Wilson and Colton Smith each received $500 academic awards for their placement at the event, which was held on Friday, April 8 on the RLC campus.

One of the Future Warrior winners is already a future warrior. Wilson plans to attend RLC after graduation.

There were seven schools in the RLC district that participated in the daylong event, which tested students on accounting and economics, marketing and management and visual communications design. Students came from Woodlawn, Zeigler-Royalton, Hamilton County, Waltonville, Sesser-Valier, Benton and West Frankfort.

Other winners for the day include:

  • Morgan Heil (Hamilton County), junior winner
  • Hayley Pasquino (Zeigler-Royalton), sophomore winner
  • Daylon Pollard (Woodlawn), freshman winner
