## Board of Trustees Meeting - November 15, 2022

***Meeting Highlights***

**Under New Business, the Board:**

-  approved a new course - AUTO 2213 Hybrid and Electric Vehicles - and authorized its submission to the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) for action effective on the dates listed. 
- approved to adopt the 2022 Tax Levy (Payable 2023). The proposed tax levy will be filed in accord with the Truth in Taxation compliance laws.
- granted permission to purchase a security camera package using tort liability funds for the Rend Lake College Marketplace from Security Alarm.
- granted permission to purchase two FANUC industrial trainer robots from Aidex Educational Systems using remaining Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) grant funds.
- granted permission to create the stipend position for Facilitator of Chocolate Factory, as presented, effective November 16, 2022. The stipend position will be prorated for the remainder of FY 2022.

**Under Personnel, the Board:**

- accepted the resignation of Mr. Rodney Summers, Maintenance Technician, effective October 20, 2022.
- accepted the resignation of Ms. Alyssa VanZant, Subsidized Child Care Specialist, effective December 30, 2022.
- accepted the resignation of Ms. Reba Ourun, TRIO-Upward Bound Advisor, effective November 14, 2022.
- granted permission to advertise for three Maintenance Technicians and revise the job description, effective November 15, 2022.
- granted permission to create the position and job description, advertise for, and ratify the appointment of Technician—Shipping & Receiving/Grounds at the December 13th meeting, effective November 15, 2022.

**Under Personnel, the Board:**

- ratified the payment of college expenses, including travel expense reimbursements, as presented.

**Additional Highlights: **

- Several college leaders will be training this week upstate on competency-based education
- RLC and Southeastern Illinois College have been selected to receive the 2022 Innovation Award by the Illinois Council for Community Colleges Administration (ICCCA) in coordination with the Illinois Community College Training and Resource and Information Network (weTRaIN).
