INA, Ill. (May 6, 2022) – Rend Lake College celebrated its faculty and staff Wednesday with the annual Board, Faculty, Staff Dinner. It was the first event to be held in the newly renovated RLC Event Center.
The ceremony kicked off by recognizing milestone years of service.

Three individuals also received specialized awards for their outstanding achievements this year.
At the end of the night, six retirees celebrated the closing their Rend Lake College journeys at the end of this school year.
Dr. Nina Goloubeva
Dr. Goloubeva joined the college as the Medical Assistant Program Director in July 2015 and has held that position ever since. According to those who work closest to her here at RLC, the things she is most likely to do in retirement are traveling to see her son and going to Costco.
VP of Finance & Administration Angie Kistner
Kistner started her RLC journey in the business office as a student worker. Her first full-time role was the Finance & Registration Assistant in September 1992. Three years later, she was promoted to Business Office Financial Coordinator and then to Controller in 2004. After nine years in that role, Kistner was the obvious choice for the next VP of Finance & Administration, where she’s served the college well since 2013. Kistner’s retirement will most definitely include family and farming, but could still include ideas to improve RLC.
Math Professor Lynda Laningham
Laningham first joined the RLC faculty as a math instructor in 1990. Her retirement days will most likely be filled with family time, auction hunting, and helping her husband with their business.
Custodian Gale Lowery
For two decades, Lowery has been a faithful custodian to Rend Lake College and Physical Plant. Retirement for Gale will mean much time spent fishing and being a grandpa.
Chief of Security Gary McGill
Chief McGill was hired as a Police Officer at RLC in 2003. Exactly one year later, to the day, he was promoted to Chief of Security. In retirement, Gary will enjoy his coffee & donuts … but now it will be with family.
Maintenance Supervisor Dave Mathis
Mathis was the Maintenance Supervisor for Rend Lake College and celebrated 15 years of service. In retirement, Dave will enjoy the outdoors by doing some fishing and hiking, but most importantly, he will spend time with his family.
