INA, Ill. (May 20, 2026) — In collaboration with local FFA chapters, Rend Lake College hosted more than 200 local fourth grade students May 12 at the Terry Wilkerson Agronomy Innovation Center. It was the fourth Farm Safety Day where youth learn important lessons while getting to explore.
Students from West Frankfort, Johnston City and Ewing learned how to be safe when using and working with tools, animals, ATVs, heavy equipment, lawnmowers, tractors and more! The RLC nursing program presented on first aid and Director of the Agronomy Innovation Center & Land Lab Supervisor Blake Patton, along with Sustainable Agriculture Specialist Addison Page, focused on lessons about farm equipment safety.
