Want to learn 10 aptitudes in 10 weeks for a future career starting this summer?
The Rend Lake Manufacturing Pre-Apprenticeship offers anyone 16 years old and older the opportunity to learn and explore several different types of industries. The 10-week program begins June 1, and financial assistance is available.
The Rend Lake Pre-Apprenticeship Program helps its students discover careers focused on planning, managing, and performing the process of materials into final products. Students will explore various applications of industrial safety, learn about metal-joining processes used in general industry, construction and fabrication and increase skills required for entry into the workforce. The program will provide valuable hands-on training in manufacturing skill as well as life and career preparation through units focused on interpersonal skills, teamwork, mechanical aptitude, problem solving and decision-making.
In addition to learning 10 skills in the course, students will also receive 10 hours of OSHA certification.
Upon completion, students will receive seven college credits that can be used toward completing a degree or certificate at RLC. The training is required for those interested in welding, industrial electronics and maintenance technology, machining and manufacturing.
