INA, IL (April 7, 2022) - A new endowment program at Rend Lake College will help local students pursue a career in the medical field.
Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon kicked off the Legacy endowment with a recent $10,000 donation to the RLC Foundation.
The Medical Staff and Leadership Team at the hospital created the Crossroads Legacy Scholarship through the foundation as a way to honor Dr. Syzer and Dr. Tarter. The scholarship will be available to Crossroads employees, their children and their grandchildren as a way to help them pursue a career in healthcare and giving quality care to the community.
"If we can invest in the next generation of doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and hospital administrators, we are essentially making sure that this community is going to continue to thrive,†said Crossroads Medical Staff President Dr. Gregory Dalencourt.
"The power of us working together in the region to support the future is key,†RLC President Terry Wilkerson said. “And Crossroads has always been instrumental in that, and a leader in it."
The scholarship will begin being awarded this upcoming school year.
