INA, IL (Feb. 8, 2022) -- The talents of the Rend Lake College Culinary Arts students were on full display Tuesday afternoon.

The students hosted a High Tea event in the Student Center Private Dining area. The menu included an assortment of small tea sandwiches, savory snacks and tiny desserts and sweets. There were also jams, jellies and a variety of bagged tea selections to go along with the meal.

The campus community was then invited out to sample the foods that the students had to offer. The High Tea event is part of the program's required coursework, and everything served was entirely whipped up by the students.

"I just enjoy making different foods," RLC Culinary Arts student Leviticus Riley of Johnston City said. "I just basically love experimenting."

"It really put me out of my bubble and had me trying different things," said student Ailyssa Lewis of Newton.

Several people attended the RLC Culinary Arts High Tea on Tuesday afternoon. The menu is a required part of the program, and the entire menu was prepared by students. (Click on image for printable photo)
