INA, Ill. (April 14, 2015) - Rend Lake College and Murray State University (MSU) have again teamed up to help RLC Agriculture students transfer seamlessly to MSU with a new 5-year articulation agreement. Every RLC program in the Agriculture Department - including Ag Business, Ag Mechanics, Ag Production and Management, and Ag Technology - transfers to a corresponding degree at MSU.

Kathy Craig, RLC Agriculture Associate Professor, said there has been an agreement between RLC and MSU since the 1999-2000 academic year with renewals every five years.

"Every five years, Murray State officials will read through our classes to see if anything has changed. If it has, then they look at how those changes will transfer into their programs," said Craig. "This way, we know what we're looking for when a student wants to transfer, and we can then make suggestions to make their lives easier. The majors at Murray State are a little different, but our degrees transfer in some way into what the student wants to do. There's a much larger variety."

RLC President Terry Wilkerson, CENTER, and Craig, LEFT, took a break from the 39th Annual Agricultural Banquet last week to sign the articulation agreement with Dr. Tony Brannon, RIGHT, Dean of the Hutson School of Agriculture at MSU. Brannon was the keynote speaker at the event and urged RLC students to work hard and continue their education. Click on the image for a larger view.

This year approximately 10 students will be utilizing the articulation agreement after graduating from RLC. To learn more about the agreement or to ask questions, contact Kathy Craig at 618-437-5321, Ext. 1066 or craigk@rlc.edu.
