INA, IL (Oct. 21, 2016) - Lori Ragland, Rend Lake College Vice President of Career Technical Instruction, was recently awarded the Illinois Council for Continuing Education and Training’s (ICCET) Exemplary Leadership Award.
Ragland was selected as this year’s recipient by the ICCET board after being nominated by a colleague. The honor recognizes individuals who provide leadership in promoting community college continuing education and/or community services, either at the state or local level.
“ICCET is a great resource for community colleges with developing and coordinating continuing education. Participation in this organization is invaluable; not only do members grow personally and professionally, but through networking together, we have such an impact on the knowledge and skills of others throughout the State of Illinois. ICCET has been instrumental in developing my leadership skills, and I'm honored to be the recipient of this award,†Ragland said.
Ragland was presented the award at the annual ICCET/weTRaIN Conference this week in Normal, IL.
In the nomination form, a coworker described Ragland as, “extremely knowledgeable in all areas of the college which makes her a huge asset to Rend Lake College. Lori works diligently to promote the college by increasing offerings in the community education area and providing trainings and workshops for our campus and the community.â€
“Lori is the utmost professional and bases her decisions on what's best for the college. Her servant leadership style creates an atmosphere of continuous growth and success. I am fortunate to work with her… She leads by example and is always willing to stop what she is doing to help others. She also uses a team approach and is quick to give praise and recognition to those that work for her.â€
