INA, Ill. (Aug. 8, 2013) - Set to kick-off the new year with a bang, Rend Lake College students are invited to attend Fun Fest 2013 from noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25. The afternoon will be filled with delicious food, countless entertainment, games and lots of prizes and giveaways.
RLC’s Culinary Arts program will provide food outside of the Student Center, and students can choose from grilled chicken, grilled hotdogs or nachos. Tropical Sno will also be on hand to give out Sno Cones and popcorn will be available.
There will be musical entertainment provided by Memory Lane of Carterville (www.memorylanemusicservice.com) in front of the Academic Building, and performances by the RLC Warrior Dance Team and Cheerleaders.
Other activities will include massages from Therapeutic Massage program students; hand massages by the Studio RLC Cosmetology School; outdoor activities such as washers, disc golf, bean bag toss and more; and palm reading by Dr. Sue Tomlin, former RLC Sociology Professor. Several other RLC clubs may also host events, and those details are being finalized.
Returning this year will be the dunk tank, featuring some of RLC’s finest faculty and staff, and a photo booth from Sartor Photography of Benton.
New this year will be a gaming party, to be held in the South Oasis. A dozen X-Boxes will be set up for students to compete against one another at “Halo,†“Call of Duty,†and others.
Classes on campus, at the Murphy-Wall Pinckneyville Campus and at the RLC MarketPlace in Mt. Vernon will be cancelled between noon and 3 p.m., and will resume afterward.
