RLC’s Community and Corporate Education offers fun and exciting opportunities for kids between grades first through eighth. Campers will experiment with materials and
techniques that enhance the communication of ideas
through art. Exploration of visual arts will be provided
through the creation of make-and-take projects.
Projects may include painting, drawing, mixed media,
sculpture, printmaking, and more.
Bertie Ham's Chefs of Tomorrow with Chef Jeff Fairbanks
Grades 4-6

Each day is a new culinary adventure as campers
learn the basics of cooking safely. Campers will learn
how to cook lunch for themselves and maybe even
surprise others with their cooking skills! Campers will
be taking home samples of their creations. Bertie Ham
was well known for her love and passion for education,
cooking, and children. This camp is being sponsored in
Bertie’s memory by her family and friends.
Each camper will receive some of Bertie’s famous recipes.

Turn an ordinary summer into another adventure
while attending this ultimate science camp.
Participants will build, decorate, and launch their own
model rockets that reach heights up to 1000 feet. In
addition to building and launching the rockets,
participants will view videos produced by NASA which
highlight our explorations on other planets, discuss the
possibility of life beyond Earth, and participate in
activities that bring the solar system to scale. Don’t

Down On The Farm with Angie Kistner
Grades 1-3

This is a farm and animal-based camp that will have
hands-on engagement. Campers will participate in
activities such as animal care and handling, games,
nature investigating, crafts, and farm to table

Let's Get Fit! with Laura Johnston

Let’s Get Fit will show kids that being active is fun!
This camp will introduce kids to an active lifestyle.
Campers will participate in several different
physical activities and learn about nutrition while
having fun! Please wear play clothes, sunscreen and

RLC Bakeshop with Angelina Mabrey

Kids, are you interested in learning how to run your
own bakeshop? Join RLC professional pastry chef, Jeff
Fairbanks, to learn skills in baking and pastry
techniques. Campers will work alongside Chef Jeff and
RLC pastry students during the morning session to
create delicious bakery items. In the afternoon,
campers will meet with the RLC Career Tech Support
Team to learn more about planning, cost analysis,
production, marketing, and sales. On the final afternoon,
kids will experience a Grand Opening Ceremony
for the RLC Bakeshop.
The Look with the Studio RLC Style Team

Mars Explorer with Greg Hollmann

This camp is an exciting opportunity for future adventurers to learn more about Mars and current and future missions to this planet. Rend Lake
College instructor Greg Hollmann will facilitate hands-on activities that will help campers better understand the surface conditions, volcanic activity, and
other features of Mars. To finish the program, the participants will be tested with a building activity that will illustrate the challenges we
face in the human exploration of this planet.

Space is limited, so be sure to register early!
A full refund will be issued for cancellations
received one week before the first day of camp.
RLC cannot provide make-up sessions or partial
refunds for days missed. RLC reserves the right to
cancel any camps that do not meet minimum
enrollment —the registration fee will be fully
refunded.
RLC staff will collect your camper at the end of
their morning camp, supervise their lunch, and
drop them off with their afternoon leader.
Parents may drop their camper off at their 9 am
camp and pick them up at 3:30 pm following their
afternoon session. Campers need to bring a sack
lunch and beverage each day.
