Library Specialist (Part-Time)

Rend Lake College seeks a part-time LIBRARY SPECIALIST to supervise circulation of print and non-print materials; assist with overdue and fine procedures; issue library cards and student identification cards; help individuals find materials in the automated catalog and other electronic resources; assist with collection development and technical services tasks, including maintenance of circulation records and inventory records; and perform other duties as assigned. //  Part-time position, up to 24 hours per week.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate Degree in related field from an accredited institution preferred.•
  • The following skill sets are preferred: Experience navigating the Polaris automated catalog system; Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal system for library classification; Knowledge of Library of Congress Subject Headings; Proficient in the use of MS Word and Excel; Knowledge of FOIA; copyright and privacy issues applicable to library tasks; Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • All candidates will be required to successfully pass a background screening process.
SALARY & BENEFITS
  • Salary $12 per hour or commensurate on experience.
