INA, Ill. (May 7, 2026) — Rend Lake College showcased the remarkable talent and dedication of its students, particularly those with a passion for music, at the RLC Theatre on May 5.
The RLC concert band and choirs from Rend Lake College and Southeastern Illinois College performed for the public during the 2026 Spring Concert: Chiaroscuro. The annual event has become a highly anticipated tradition within the college community.
Directed by conductor William Reynolds, the RLC concert band performed six pieces, including "March for Tomorrow" by Bill Holcombe and Jerry Nowak, "Beguine Festival" scored by Glenn Osser, and "Poor Richard" by Dick and Paul Freitas.
The concert continued with the combined RLC and SIC choir, conducted by RLC music professor Sara Alstat-Sanders and SIC music instructor Clinton Cory Garmane. The student choir performed nine songs. Among the selections led by Alstat-Sanders and Garmane were "Nella Fantasia," featuring music by Ennio Morricone and lyrics by Chiara Ferrau, and "Ascribe to the Lord" by Rosephayne Powell.
