INA, Ill. (March 6, 2023) - Rend Lake College is excited to announce that it will be hosting a Skywarn Spotter Training Class on Wednesday, March 15 at 6:00 pm in the RLC Event Center on the Ina Main Campus.
Have you ever been fascinated by the weather and wanted to learn more about it? Do you want to be able to report severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, funnel clouds, wall clouds, hail, lightning, downbursts, and flash flooding? If so, then you should become an official National Weather Service Skywarn Spotter.
NWS Instructor Keith Cooley will teach you how to identify these weather phenomena and report them accurately. The class will feature many weather pictures and videos, as well as information on how to become an informed spotter. The class lasts for two and a half hours, and all course material is free.
