This mini-survival guide has been prepared especially for YOU in an attempt to make your transition into the college environment a smooth one. RLC Student Services understands your frustration! We have been listening . . . and we know you often have found yourself saying, “NOBODY TOLD ME!” So, we put together a list that hopefully will answer many of your questions about life at Rend Lake College.

The Commencement ceremony is the culmination of the student’s program of study. Each May, Rend Lake College conducts a graduation exercise whereby faculty, staff, family and friends come together to recognize and honor academic achievements. All eligible degree and certificate recipients are encouraged to participate in the Commencement ceremony. Participation in this ceremony is allowed prior to verification of completion of final courses. The Learning Enhancement Center is the central resource for academic help and transition services on Rend Lake College’s campus. Tutors are available to help students in core subject areas and workshops are conducted to provide transition assistance.

The Clocktower Chronicle comes out the first Tuesday of each month. Read the latest stories online now or browse digital archives. Work on staff and experience journalism in a variety of ways - from photography and news reporting, to graphic design and feature writing. The college currently has incentives in place for students who work on the newspaper staff. These include tuition waivers and scholarships! Act now and get started.

The Rend Lake College Foundation integrates resources to achieve campus growth, economic development and community growth. Thanks to the generosity of supporters, roughly 200 scholarships for an approximate $300,000 are awarded to RLC students each year. The deadline is in late February to apply for scholarships for the following fall semester. Applying for scholarships is recommended.

Our facilities help you study, research, leisure read, prepare for class, and hop on the net. Come in and use the many resources and services the LRC has available to make your Rend Lake College experience even more successful!

The choice for RLC students, employees, and families in the community for years. On-campus convenience, payment options and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. We offer care to children 6 weeks to 5 years old throughout the school year. Summer care up to 12 years. Your child will thrive through play-based curriculum delivered by our qualified staff.

View the current semester list of textbooks and learn about our rental and return procedures that save RLC students thousands each year. The Bookstore also houses our Retail Center where you can pick up supplies for class and fresh Warriors shirts, pants, jackets, hats and more.
