The First Year Experience Program at Rend Lake College is designed to improve student engagement in the college experience by fostering personal connections and increased communication with faculty, staff and peers. New students will also learn skills such as time management and organization which lead to improved academic performance and are essential for success in the workplace and higher education beyond graduation.

These elements are taught through Orientation 1101. This course is a graduation requirement for all new students who are enrolled and are seeking an Associate's Degree.
