Kirby Risk Distribution Trainee Program
Your career with Kirby Risk begins with the KR Distribution Trainee program! This comprehensive 1-year development program will encompass a combination of coaching, exposure to key operations, sales support roles, and site visits to various locations and customers. After successful completion of the KR Distribution Trainee program, you will be given the opportunity to fill a Management, Account Management (Outside Sales), Inside Sales, Project Manager, or other professional-level role.
Program Outline:
- 1-year program focused on work-life experiences, coaching, and foundational educational courses
- Extensive training on Kirby Risk distributed products through industry-based, self-guided product knowledge training, manufacturer training, and plant tours
- Complete training on KR service capabilities through operations and logistics work-life experiences
- Introduction to KR customers through sales and customer work-life experiences
- Skill building in cross-functional (teams and markets) sales support roles, leading to success in meeting customer service and sales objectives
- Additional project-based work-life experiences
- Opportunity to gain valuable experience in various KR locations
- Extensive coaching and use of an assessment-based feedback system
Requirements of a Distribution Trainee candidate:
- Relocation to the assigned Kirby Risk location after completion of the program
- Residency in the assigned base location city during the program
- Work in and travel to assigned KR locations during the program
- Two or Four-year degree in Engineering, Business, Sales/Marketing, or Industrial Distribution preferred; completion of other degrees considered
- Military experience considered in lieu of a degree
- Proven pre-degree sales or customer service experience
- Has a valid driver's license
