Sales Agronomist

Reports to: Agronomy Sales Manager

Summary: This position is responsible for making recommendations to customers regarding seed, crop nutrients, and crop protection products, and for the sale of agronomy products along with custom application and precision ag services.

Sales Growth & Retention

Prospect, build and maintain positive working relationships with current and potential customers

Make sound product and services recommendations to customers to improve their operation

Enhance vendor relationships and implement programs in the sales area with focus on growing the overall sales of the Agronomy department

Represent yourself as a problem solver to provide value added solutions for customers

Establish and implement business and marketing solutions with customers

Help coordinate and oversee the marketing of all agronomy sales and services
Customer Acquisition & Concentration

Continually gather and monitor information on competition and market trends

Communicate with Agronomy Sales Manager to develop and enhance the performance of the agronomy department

Develop and lead the implementation of strategic marketing plans to enhance market share

Develop regular sales call strategies with assigned customers and prospects

Provide superior service to both current and existing customers

Resolve all issues in both the company’s and the customer’s best interest

Profile and target key customers to attain achievable growth through increased market share by implementing marketing programs set by agronomy management
