INA, Ill. (August 10, 2026) — The Rend Lake College Fall Play auditions for The Jungle Book will take place on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 6 PM in the RLC Theater. All RLC students and community actors ages 16 and up are encouraged to audition.
One of literature's most enduring classics is brought vividly to the stage in this exciting adventure of Mowgli, the Indian boy, raised by caring wolves, befriended by Bagheera, the Panther, and Baloo, the Bear, and threatened by Shere Kahn, the evil tiger. Filled with excitement and humor, the play highlights the struggle of good versus evil, the worth of friendship, and the importance of loyalty and other values required for surviving the "law of the jungle."

RLC is looking for a talented cast of actors to bring these beloved characters to life on the stage. Those auditioning should prepare to cold read from the play script.
Rehearsals will begin the week following auditions, and will take place Mondays - Thursdays from 6 - 9 PM. RLC students are required to sign up for THEA 1102 (Theatre Practicum) and earn three college credits. The tuition for this particular class is waived, however student fees will still be required.
The play will take place November 5 - 8, 2026.
