36 RLC students join PTK Honor Society

April 30, 2020

INA, Ill. (April 30, 2020)
Three-dozen Rend Lake College students were recognized for their academic prowess this month with their induction into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Phi Theta Kappa is a national organization for two-year colleges that help high-achieving students with scholarships, career training, transfer success and leadership training. RLC welcomed 36 new members into the Rho Xi chapter this month, although the planned induction ceremony could not be held due to ongoing health concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Students are currently out of sight; however, they are not out of mind.  Though a formal Induction ceremony could not be conducted this year, I want every 2020 Phi Theta Kappa member to be acknowledged and celebrated.  I sincerely congratulate each and every one on their academic fortitude and wish them future success,” said RLC Director of Academic Advisement and PTK Advisor Jena Jensik.

Students that received a Phi Theta Kappa invitation in early spring can accept membership through May 31, 2020.  Those with questions pertaining to the process can contact Jena Jensik, jensikj@rlc.edu.
