Award-winning poet Allison Joseph read a selection of poems for students, staff and members of the public Thursday at Rend Lake College.

She has published a multitude of books and chapbooks, her most recent being “Confessions of a Barefaced Woman,†which was chosen as the First Place Winner in the poetry category of the 2019 Feathered Quill Book Awards.
Along with sharing some of her work, Joseph answered questions from the audience and signed copies of her books following the reading. The event was in conjunction with RLC’s Black History Month programming, which celebrates the culture and contributions of the African-American community.
