INA, Ill. (August 5, 2019) - Aryn Wiggins is the Rend Lake College Veteran of the Month for August 2019.
Wiggins is a Mt. Vernon resident and served in the United States Navy from 2012-16. He is currently studying Radiology at RLC.
The former gunner’s mate said he chose to join the military to travel and experience life outside of Southern Illinois, adding that the educational benefits that the military offered were hard to turn down.
“[Being in the Navy] matured me and gave me a lot of life experiences in a short amount of time, Wiggins said. “At this point, I feel that I take everything more seriously.â€
When he’s not at school or work, Wiggins enjoys playing soccer, riding motorcycles, enjoying the outdoors and catching up on sleep when the time allows. He said there’s no place he likes to travel to more than coming home after a long day.
