Banterra Student of the Month: Madison Brower
INA, Ill. (March 17, 2026) — Join Rend Lake College in celebrating one of its students each month, sponsored by Banterra Bank. These students are selected based on their GPA, as well as their campus and community involvement. The March Student of the Month is Madison Brower (Christopher).

Brower is a sophomore in the psychology program. She plans to graduate in May and continue her education in the field of psychology.
"Madison is such a joy to have in class," said Psychology Professor Dr. Jeannie Mitchell. "She is personable, fashionable, wickedly intelligent, and has the best eye make-up on the planet! She’s a very determined young lady who is fun, easy-going, and well-liked by her peers. 10/10!"
"Madison Brower is an absolute delight to teach. She is committed to all of her classes, displaying maturity, focus, talent, and discipline on a daily basis," said Theatre Professor Tracey Webb. "She listens to instructions and quickly grasps the message of every lecture, so of course I look forward to instructing her because her attitude is just so positive!"
Along with being a full-time student, Brower works part-time as a Personal Support Worker, is a member of the RLC Student Ambassadors, and acts on the RLC stage.
"Madison is an intelligent, hard-working, and talented student," said Music Professor Sara Alstat-Sanders. "In addition to excelling in her coursework, she is portraying Lulu and is the Dance Captain in this year's spring musical, Cabaret. Her dedication and her willingness to always help others makes Madison not just a standout student/performer, but a truly remarkable person."
"When I found out I was named Student of the Month, I was ecstatic," exclaimed Brower. "I pour so much time and energy into everything I do, so it was very reassuring to see that my efforts were recognized. I am so thankful for all of my wonderful professors the past two years at RLC for always being so supportive and encouraging!"
RLC is delighted to see Brower recognized for her upstanding character – not only by faculty and staff, but also by members of the community, such as CEO of Banterra Bank Jeff May.
“Banterra was happy to partner with Rend Lake College for the naming rights of the renovated sports facility, the Banterra Sports Complex, because we are two organizations that are committed to supporting Southern Illinois and our youth,” said May. “As part of that partnership, we are honored to sponsor a Student of the Month program which recognizes an outstanding RLC student each month for their achievements.”
Banterra Bank's naming rights of the Banterra Sports Complex is the largest corporate naming rights agreement to date. Renovations are complete and a ribbon cutting was held February 11.
