INA, Ill. (Nov. 27, 2018) - What started as a simple recruiting trip turned into a full-blown collaboration between Rend Lake College’s Industrial Trainer Matthew Jackson and Benton Consolidated High School’s Heather Mitchell. The pair hatched the idea to do a project day in association with RLC’s Architecture Program. BCHS students spent the day on the Ina campus interacting with emergent fabrication technology, offering them a hands-on look at some of the most advanced technology on campus. Everything from 3D printers to laser cutting/engraving and CNC routing was available to the visiting students as they produced their own designs files in the RLC CAD lab before seeing their creations turn from digital files into reality. All materials were donated to the visiting students by RLC.
