INA, Ill. (Feb. 11, 2015) - Rend Lake College announced the 2015 Homecoming King and Queen tonight during halftime of the Warriors basketball game against Wabash Valley. Elijah Liske of Covington and Claire Pytlinski of Waltonville, both representing the Collegiate FFA program, were crowned King and Queen.
Liske is the son of Beth Liske of Okawville and Andy Liske of Covington. He attended Okawville High School and represents RLC’s Collegiate FFA Club and the Ag Department. The Ag Production and Mechanics major plans to study agriculture education at Murray State University. His hobbies include tractor pulling, long walks on the beach, and being himself.
Pytlinski is the daughter of Bruce and Annette Pytlinski. The Waltonville High School graduate is an Agriculture Business Production and Management major representing the RLC Collegiate FFA and the Ag Department. Her future plans include graduating from RLC and continuing her education at a four-year university. Afterward, she hopes to work with an agriculture company in marketing, and settle down and start a family. Her hobbies include helping on the family farm, bow hunting, fishing, and being outdoors.
Runners-up for the evening were Dallas Adkins of Shepherdsville, Ky., representing the RLC Baseball team, and Brooke Docherty of Benton, representing the STARS program.
Adkins is the son of Daffney Warnecke and Adrian Adkins. He attended Butler Traditional High School in Shepdherdsville, Ky. At RLC, he plays for the Baseball team while majoring in Special Education. His future plans include attending a four-year university to play baseball and continue his higher education.
Docherty is the daughter of Jennifer Summers and Jeff Docherty. She attended Benton Consolidated High School. Representing the STARS program, Docherty is a Social Work major with plans to continue her education at a four-year university.
Other King candidates included Richard Clemons of Louisville, Ky.; Tyler Crawford of Woodlawn; TiErre Harris of Mt. Vernon; Nathan Liszewski of Nashville; Matthew Loucks of Sesser and Dustin May of Woodlawn.
Clemons is the son of Marcy and Richard Clemons. He attended Pleasure Ridge Park High School in Louisville, Ky. Clemons is a basketball player for the RLC Warriors. After graduating from RLC in Criminal Justice, he says he looks forward to attending a four-year university to continue his education.
Crawford is the son of Danny and Rhonda Crawford. He attended Woodlawn High School and is studying Auto Technology at RLC. He is a cheerleader for the RLC Warriors and plans to become a full-time mechanic with his own garage after graduation, then get married and start a family.
Harris is the son of Stephen Harris and Aletha Thomas. The Mt. Vernon Township High School graduate is a member of the STARS program on campus. He is a Music Performance major with future plans to become a professional musician.
Liszewski is the son of Clarence and Veronica Liszewski. He attended Nashville Community High School. He represents the RLC Nursing Club with plans to graduate with an Associate Degree in Nursing. In the future, Liszewski hopes to be a traveling nurse, then return home to become a Nurse Practitioner. In his spare time, he also hopes to save the world and cure all diseases.
Loucks is the son of Randy and Terri Loucks. The RLC Thespian graduated from Sesser-Valier High School and is an undecided major. In the future, Loucks plans to attend Southern Illinois University Carbondale to further his education and then start a career in either corrections or the U.S. Army.
May is the son of Debra and Dennis May. The Woodlawn Community High School graduate is a Radiologic Technology major at RLC representing the Radiology Club. After graduation, May plans to transfer and get a bio-medical degree before attending medical school.
The Queen candidates included Abbie Braden of McLeansboro, Denise Bruns of Pinckneyville, Sarah Carlson of Pinckneyville, Jennifer Carroll of Nashville, Danara Jones of Waltonville, Deborah Loucks of Sesser, and Rowdee Sanders of Johnston City.
Braden is the daughter of Kevin and Annette Braden. She attended Hamilton County Senior High School and is a chemical engineering major at RLC. Representing the Student Ambassadors, Braden hopes to transfer to Missouri University of Science and Technology for her bachelor’s degree, then look for a job that allows her to stay in Southern Illinois.
Bruns is the daughter of Dennis and Diane Bruns. The Pinckneyville Community High School graduate represents the Radiology Club as a Radiologic Technology major. Her future plans include transferring and continuing her education in radiation therapy.
Carlson is the daughter of Jim and Cheryl Carlson. She attended Pinckneyville Community High School and is currently a golfer for the RLC Lady Warriors. After graduating with a degree in occupational therapy, Carlson hopes to attend a four-year university to further her education.
Carroll is the daughter of Jim Carroll and Dawn Murphy. She attended Nashville Community High School. At RLC, Carroll is an Associate Degree Nursing major representing the Nursing Club. She plans to travel as a nurse and save the world - if time and money allow. In the future, she hopes to become a Nurse Practitioner.
Jones is the daughter of Travis and Penny Jones. She graduated from Waltonville High School and is a cheerleader for the RLC Warriors. The Business major plans to continue to a four-year university to finish her degree before getting married.
Loucks is the daughter of Vernon and Dinah Bates and Thomas and Odessa Petitt. She attended Sesser-Valier High School and represents the RLC Thespians. Loucks is an education major who hopes to become a drama and vocal music teacher. She looks forward to living happily ever after with her husband Matt and daughter Mattie.
Sanders is the daughter of Joe and Debbie Sanders. The Lady Warriors volleyball player is a math education major who plans to transfer to a four-year university, finish school, and become a high school math teacher.
