INA, Ill. (Nov. 12, 2015) - Everyone has heard of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but this year, add Giving Tuesday to your holiday list. The Rend Lake College Foundation is again hosting Giving Tuesday on Dec. 1 to help students, faculty, and staff give back and celebrate the season of generosity.
Everyone can take advantage of Giving Tuesday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the Student Center’s Private Dining Area, where cotton candy, hot chocolate, and popcorn will be served alongside two Christmas-themed movies: “Elf†and “A Christmas Story.â€
While there, students, faculty and staff will be asked to get in the “giving spirit.†Giving Tuesday inspires generosity in many forms, said RLC Foundation CEO Shawna Bullard, who added there will be ideas of how to pay it forward and arm bands for those who give monetary gifts.
The RLC Foundation is joining a network of charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world to spend a day giving and celebrating generosity. Join the RLC Foundation in being part of this global celebration by sharing your story of your giving - how you gave, what you gave, and what you got in return - and share it on Instagram by tagging the RLC Foundation @RLCFoundation with the hashtags #GivingTuesday and #RLCFGiveToGet.
Giving Tuesday was founded in 2012 by New York’s 92nd Street Y in partnership with the United Nations Foundation. Together, with a team of influencers and founding partners, they launched a global movement that has engaged over 10,000 organizations worldwide. Visit them online at www.givingtuesday.org.
