Project CHILD (Caring How Illinois Lives Develop) works at the MarketPlace in Mt. Vernon and they serve to provide quality child care that is affordable and accessible to all families in the community. Their mission is to enable children to develop to their full potential through quality education and care.

Jamie Nichols, Project CHILD Infant Toddler Specialist and Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician, said they partnered with Blended to provide free popcorn and soda to the students at the MarketPlace. Nichols complimented the whole team at Project CHILD for their collaborative efforts to serve the students and the community through events such as this. Ashley Baldridge, Higher Education Navigator, made a word search packet that included every program at the MarketPlace: Cosmetology, Esthetics, Barbering, Manfacturing Adult Education, and Nursing.

“The students enjoyed their snack break from class and appreciated the meaningful word search that can be used as a much-needed brain break from the school day,” Nichols said. “We look forward to the opportunity to collaborate on future events.”
