Become better informed on how to be better protected. A representative from the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program will set up in front of the Rend Lake College Student Center on Monday, Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to discuss this important issue. All RLC students and employees are encouraged to visit.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Since 1995, the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program provides free mammograms, breast and pelvic exams as well as Pap tests to women who qualify. The American Cancer Society estimates this year, there will be 281,550 new cases of invasive breast cancer diagnosed in women. Cervical cancer occurs in nearly 13,000 US women each year.
