INA, Ill. (October 8, 2026) — The Rend Lake College Foundation Children’s Center was filled with excitement on Monday, October 5, as members of the Jefferson County Fire Protection District stopped by for a special visit.
The young learners had a hands-on experience exploring fire safety and learning about the important work local first responders do every day. The highlight of the visit came when the kids got an up-close look at a real Freightliner fire engine, complete with bright-red, plastic, firefighter helmets to take home and hold high.
Activities like these give RLCF Children’s Center students the opportunity to connect directly with community helpers in a fun, interactive and memorable way. A huge thank you to the Jefferson County Fire Protection District for taking the time to inspire our smallest Warriors!
