The simulator was purchased by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards board mobile training unit 15. The placement of the firearm simulator resulted from RLC's collaboration with Mt. Vernon P.D. Retired Police Chief, Trent Page. With this collaboration, the simulator is utilized by local law enforcement and RLC criminal justice students.

The simulator provides as real to life training scenarios as possible and helps students learn how challenging the career is. The Police Weapons and Defensive Tactics class is designed to give students as many hands on training as possible.
