Dorris seated as new trustee, officers elected

Brian Dorris (Sesser) was seated as a new member of the Rend Lake College Board of Trustees Tuesday. Three seats were up for election in April. Dorris is an RLC alumnus, attending from 1987-1989, after which he transferred to Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He is a project manager for Sierra Bravo Contractors and owns his own company, Dorris Trucking, both located in Sesser.

The board also elected officers Tuesday. Officers selected were Rubenacker, chair; Larry Manning, vice chair; and Eric Black, secretary. In related moves, Manning was reappointed as the board's Illinois Community College Trustees Association representative, and Angie Kistner, RLC's Vice President of Finance and Administration, was appointed board treasurer. The officers are appointed to two-year terms.
