RLC Hosts Local Students for 2025 Amazing Career Race

INA, Ill. (October 8, 2025) — Rend Lake College was proud to host local 5th and 6th graders on September 24-26 for the 2025 Amazing Career Race, a fun and informative event used to introduce students to different career paths.

Participating schools

Wednesday, September 24: Akin, East Side, Ewing, Pinckneyville District 50 and St. Mary Mount Vernon

Thursday, September 25: Bethel, Bluford, Christopher, Farrington, Sesser-Valier, Spring Garden, Summersville, Thompsonville and Waltonville

Friday, September 26: Dahlgren, Field, Pinckneyville CCSD #204, Wayne City, Woodlawn and Zeigler-Royalton

Each student explored 16 Career Clusters that ranged from Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources to Transportation, Distribution and Logistics. They had a variety of activities from learning about the different pathways and occupations to participating in hands-on activities from qualified RLC faculty & staff. The Amazing Career Race gave each child an experience that modeled the skills needed in those different careers.
