Ina, Ill. (April 17, 2019) - Rend Lake College artists stole the show during this year’s Intercollegiate Art Show at The Little Egypt Arts Association. This was the Art Department’s first year competing at the show, putting their work up against peers from Southeastern Illinois College and John A. Logan.
Marcus Flanigan took home best in show for his graphite "Self-Portrait".
Rita Lentz won top spot in the painting category with her watercolor titled "Harvest Memories". Debbie Sampson’s acrylic painting "Marble Reflections" earned an honorable mention.
In the Drawing category, Flanigan won second for his ink drawing "Finger Prints". Larry Wells was third for a charcoal titled "Jack O’Lantern". Samantha Alverth, Elissa Brown, Sampson, Kaylie Bicanich, Angela Czapiewski, two works by Larry Wells and two by Fiona Woods all earned honorable mention.
Flanigan earned his third award with a third place entry into the Mixed Media category with a piece called "Orphans".
