RLC Car Show raises $1,500 for student scholarships

October 10, 2019

INA, Ill. (Oct. 10, 2019) - Ninety cars, trucks and motorcycles rolled into Ina on Saturday to attend the Rend Lake College 7th Annual Car Show. Participants enjoyed a beautiful fall day with some beautiful vehicles. There were 24 awards for Car Show entrants (all judged by RLC Automotive students), plus an award for club participation. The Car Show also handed custom, student-built participation trophies, door prizes, and a 50/50 raffle winner. All events raised funds for scholarships for Automotive Technology students. All told, an estimated $1,500 was raised for RLC Automotive scholarships. The RLC Culinary Program was also on hand, selling concessions to raise money for their program.

George Benak (Makanda) won best in show with his 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air.
